Hi

I’m Xavier, a creative living in Fish Hoek, South Africa.

After twenty years of walking with the young people of South Africa as a teacher, youth pastor, school chaplain and Director of Scripture Union’s ministry to the Independent church schools of South Africa, I chose to begin a new adventure by working from home to support my wife in her work as a graphic designer, be available for our two kids as they navigate their teen years and focus on a few youth ministry projects.

Along the way I graduated with a BA, BTH and PGCE from the University of KwaZulu – Natal and completed a qualification from Red and Yellow in digital marketing.

I’m currently the managing editor of Scripture Union South Africa’s online magazine (SU Mag), the Head Course writer for TEE college’s Higher Certificate in Youth Ministry and the founder and facilitator of the RFM Advance. I also spend time walking with a group of youth pastors and chaplains from around our country who inspired me to start the ‘Remember the Way’ podcast.

I can unquestionably say that being mentored by Xavier is one of the most impactful things to have happened to me during my teen years, which has had a rippling impact into who I am a decade later.

I first met Xav when I was 16 and in the past decade he has been fervent in prayer, spirit-filled in discipleship, and God-led in wisdom as he has graciously and patiently walked with me through just about every serious life challenge I have encountered.

Xav has a wonderful approach to mentorship where he gently guides you towards a place where being honest with yourself and God is liberating rather than scary. Walking that journey with Xav was a great experience.
